Lot 2559 VERY NICE RUGER M77 .358 WINCHESTER BOLT ACTION
RIFLE. Cal. 358 Win. S# 71-37872. Bbl. 21 7/8". M77 bolt action rifle mfg. by Ruger in 1975. Top of the rnd. tapered bbl. is marked with Ruger's single line address, with the cal. designation marked on the left towards the breech. Left side of the receiver is marked with the S#, followed by "RUGER M77". Metal components exhibit a lustrous blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body, which is polished in-the-white. Alloy trigger guard and hinged floorplate exhibit a black enamel type finish. 1-piece pistol grip stock features checkered panels on the forearm and wrist, a black synthetic Ruger medallion grip cap, as well as a red rubber Ruger recoil pad. Toeline of stock and underside of forearm feature factory sling swivel studs. Receiver is mounted with a Weaver 2.5x20 scope and features a tang mounted safety. Bolt matches the receiver via "37872", which is electro-penciled on the underside of the body. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a few scattered small spots of finish loss and/or discoloration on the bbl. from previously cleaned oxidation. Alloy trigger guard and floorplate exhibit some superficial handling marks, with some light to mild edge wear that shows through to silvering. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting a couple of small spots of very light pitting towards the muzzle, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows a few superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good overall. Recoil pad shows some light age related cracking around the upper edges, with a small chip present at the toe. PROVENANCE: Estate of Groves Herrick. (25-6149/MLW). CURIO. $700-1,100.
